Scheduling an immigration consultation is a big step. In fact, it may be your first move toward legal immigration status in the United States. Whether you want to apply for a green card based on your extraordinary abilities or based on marriage, for US citizenship, or a short-term visa, this meeting is your opportunity to get answers, understand your path forward, and feel more in control of the process.

We’re excited to meet you and learn more about your story! Here’s how you can prepare to make the most of your time with us.

What to Bring

Bringing the right documents helps us understand your situation and give the best advice. The more information we have, the more specific (and helpful!) our guidance can be. Useful items include:

  • All passports with US visas and/or US visas stamps
  • Previous immigration applications that you sent to USCIS, EOIR, NVC or the Embassy
  • Any USCIS decisions or notices
  • All police reports (US or other countries) and all criminal court documents (US or other countries)
  • Anything else you think might be relevant–it’s best to bring something “just in case”!

Questions to Think About

Your consultation is your time to ask questions, and no question is too small or silly. Many people want to know:

  • How long their case might take
  • What documents they’ll need
  • Possible risks or challenges
  • Government fee
  • Legal costs

Jotting your questions down ahead of time can help you leave your consultation feeling informed, confident, and clear on what comes next.

Think About Your Goals

Before your appointment, take a moment to reflect on what you hope to achieve. Are you applying for a green card? Starting your citizenship journey? Understanding your priorities helps us tailor our advice to your specific situation, because no two immigration journeys are exactly the same.

Be Open and Honest

We know immigration can feel overwhelming, and sometimes even scary. Your consultation is a safe, confidential space to talk through your history and concerns.

Even details that may seem minor (or uncomfortable) can play an important role in building a strong case strategy. Being open with your attorney allows us to guide you more effectively and help you avoid surprises down the road.

You’re not doing this alone.

How to Schedule

We charge in advance for your first consultation. Your consultation will be dedicated time with an attorney who will carefully review your immigration history, answer your questions, and provide guidance that’s specific to your situation. This is an investment in clear, expert advice from an experienced immigration.

Consultations can be in-person or over Zoom, whichever is easiest for you. If you are ready to take the next step? Contact us today:

Our intake team will guide you through the process of scheduling your consultation. They speak English, Spanish, and Portuguese, so you can choose the language you’re most comfortable using. We look forward to meeting you and helping you take the next step in your immigration journey.
